It's been a while since I post anything remotely recent. Dude, I need a break from all the hardworking and planning. I've been working really hard this past year. I've accomplished a few big goals. When I was happily writing up my 2009 review, I felt weary thinking that there's another year ahead of me. I'm dying for a break. But the thing is, last time I took on a break, it lasted a year and half. So I can't freaking let myself slack off, especially in 2010.
Another reason why I wanted to chill, is that 2010 is going to be a big year for me. I've been planning to go to Australia for their working holiday visa for about 1 year now. It's really scary when I really have to kick start my dream. It's always comfortable and beautiful when you dream. But it's not as beautiful since it becomes reality. A lot of people, including myself, would rather quit because a dream is way better than a reality.
Therefore, I can't slack off or rest. I need to force myself keep going and be scared anyway. It's really scary to think that I only got 11 months left before I leave for Australia, or I'm not going to be in Hong Kong same time next year, or I still have to work for the next 8 months. It's very scary and weary when you put things in these perspectives. So I'm just going to take it one step at a time.
Having said that, I really need to get organized. Time will fly really freaking quickly and I need to make sure I won't miss anything or waste any time. Here is my very brief, don't-want-to-jinx-it-just-yet 2010 resolution, a.k.a. the shit list.
For Australian WHV
1. Save tons of money
2. Decide on my Australian Itinerary
3. Do massive research for Australian trip
4. Contact anyone in Australia
5. Learn how to drive
6. Look for jobs
7. Prepare resumes
8. Look for accommodations
9. Keep an eye on Australian currency
10. Look for cheap/acceptable air tickets
For Grad school
1. Apply for GRE
2. Apply for TOEFL (see whether it's necessary)
3. Decide on my major
4. Research for majors and colleges
5. Apply for schools
For personal life
1. Lose 45 pounds (before going to Australia)
2. Work on self-esteem issues
3. Meet with at least 1 friend in 2 weeks
4. Exercise 3 times a week
5. Write a post at least once a week at my blog
6. Take more pictures
7. Learn German
8. Join a church fellowship
9. Fall in love with someone
10. Be positive and excited about everything in life
